Extruplast
An Energy division subsidiary
EXTRUPLAST, a subsidiary in Groupe DUBREUIL’s Energy division, was founded in 1998 at Belleville sur Vie in the Vendée region. We are a long-standing player in the 20-litre fuel barrel production market. These barrels are designed to supply fuel for oil stoves to heat individual homes and are sold through large retail outlets (hypermarkets, supermarkets, large DIY stores and specialist DIY stores). As this type of heating became increasingly popular, we quickly started to produce our own HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene) plastic packaging.
This marked the arrival of extrusion blow moulding at our Belleville sur Vie site. From that point onwards, the number of bulk fuel deliveries via tanker truck from Montoir de Bretagne port (near Nantes St Nazaire) and/or La Rochelle port rose sharply.
In 2006, tanker deliveries continued to increase. Groupe DUBREUIL decided to invest in a brand-new manufacturing site at La Pallice oil terminal in La Rochelle. Our new 7,500 m2 factory was built on a 10,000 m2 plot of land, in agreement with the local Prefecture, fire brigade and the regional environment agency (DREAL). This enabled us to reduce our carbon footprint.
This vast, modern facility is fully automated, allowing us to safely serve our clients’ needs and help them grow their business. The whole site uses a secondary containment system. EXTRUPLAST provides an integrated manufacturing service, from the production of plastic bottles to the palletization of finished products. We obtained ISO 9001 certification in 2007, thus endorsing our industrial process.
Manufacturing facilities
EXTRUPLAST then expanded into new markets, to diversify our sales revenue. From 2010 onwards, we extended our manufacturing capacity to produce various bottle sizes, from 1 L to 20 L. We produce a wide variety of fluids (engine coolants, screen wash, lubricants), which we supply in a range of sizes, from 1 L to 1000 L, under our XP brand and for our clients’ private-label brands. These fluids are designed for the Automotive, Agricultural, Public Works and Transport markets. In 2010, we also acquired a pouch-filling line, which rounded off our investments. 2012 marked a turning point, with the installation of a complementary PET (Polyethylene terephthalate) packaging production line. This enabled us to significantly reduce the weight of our packaging,
Giving us access to new markets and products in the Home/DIY/Maintenance/Garden sectors Our facilities successfully obtained ISO 14001 Certification in 2013.
In 2016, we confirmed our commitment to the Responsible Care programme initiated by UFCC (Union Française du Commerce Chimique), a trade association of which we are a member.
Since 2018, we have made substantial investments in new PET blow moulding machines to optimize our production rates. This has enabled us to meet the growing demand for automotive fluids, especially screen wash and engine coolants. We also started to offer new, innovative PET packs that considerably reduce packaging weight. 2022 saw us renew our commitment to the PME+ LABEL. This label makes People the focus of our company, as well as protecting the Environment, offering safe, high-quality products that protect consumer health, and prioritizing Employment and community initiatives in our region.
Our teams continue to expand their expertise, integrating SURE GRIP technology in 2022. This technique allows us to incorporate a hollow handle into our PET bottles, which reduces weight and makes the pack more practical to use.
